Hiya, hi, hola, hey, hoi, howdy, niehou
It all started way back when. In the mid 70’s my parents decided to leave the country ( Netherlands) they grew up in ready for a new adventure and moved to Curacao, back than a somewhat unknown island. It took them 2 full days of traveling ( yeah the Dreamliner and the big 747’s did not exist back than). It was the time of long haired, bearded men in hot pants ( yes dad I did find the pictures), Woodstock and peace. The days when cellphones, email and skype where not the #1 thing you need or had.
After about 10 years of marriage I came along and mind you they had to get used to that. All of a sudden the nights out in the pub or the traveling around needed some extra planning. Luckily dad worked for a local airline which made it possible for mum to fly to Holland drop me off and meet up with dad in some exotic country. After 2 years of doing that they started taking me with them and I slept in caravan’s in the wilderness of Canada, experienced altitude sickness in Venezuela (so they tell me as I was completely passed out ha ha), visited churches in Guatemala and as a family we created some of the fondest memories I have.
Me being that lucky girl, I have a husband who is also infected by the traveling bug. Together we have seen countries such as Turkey, England, Denmark, Malaysia, Indonesia, Fiji, Bali, France, Australia, Costa Rica, Jamaica and the list goes on and on.
